Kate Binning, PE | Principal

Kate Binning, founder of Merge Resource Group Ltd., blends the technical abilities of a civil engineer with a dynamic communication style. Clients value her technical background for their community engagement and public outreach tasks. 

With over 24 years of transportation experience, Kate is involved with every aspect of public engagement from stakeholder meetings to social media to conflict resolution. She has been the public information manager for more than 50 projects. 

Prior to starting her own company, Kate spent 14 years as a transportation professional responsible for managing multimodal projects for public and private sector clients. Her expertise includes pedestrian and bicycle planning, community engagement and traffic calming. For several years, Kate was a Senior Engineer for a large city leading controversial and complex projects. She managed a team of technical and administrative staff to deliver capital improvement projects and programs. 

Kate is a Registered Professional Engineer (Civil) in Colorado and California and is a Registered Traffic Engineer in California.   

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University. Go Green! 

Jeff Binning joined Merge Consulting in July 2021. As a project manager and seasoned engineer, Jeff strives to ensure the design and implementation of projects are within client budgets while exceeding expectations with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. 

With over 23 years of progressive experience in the transportation industry, Jeff's skills include project management and staff leadership while remaining technically focused on roadway design. Other areas of expertise include pedestrian and trail design, stormwater management, signing and striping, construction phasing and traffic control, utility coordination, alternatives analysis and feasibility studies, public engagement and stakeholder coordination. 

Jeff is well-versed in compliance with regulatory agencies including the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Jeff is a registered Professional Engineer (Civil) in Colorado and California. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University. Go White!
