Merge Consulting is the design lead for the High Plains Trail Connections project, which includes two new 10-foot-wide concrete trail connections from the Jewell Avenue and Rome Way intersection to the High Plains Trail along E-470. The High Plains Trail is a highly used regional trail, popular among residents for recreational opportunities including walking, jogging, and cycling.
The two new trail connections were designed to improve trail usability and access. Additional project improvements included adding curb ramps, improving signage and striping, and relocating a maintenance access for the City of Aurora Open Space & Natural Resource department. This project required extensive coordination with the E-470 Public Highway Authority. The design was completed in 2022 and the project will be constructed in 2023.
As part of the construction management team, Merge Consulting is responsible for the public information effort for the Wadsworth Boulevard Improvements project. This $62-million revitalization project includes modernizing and improving Wadsworth from 35th Avenue to I-70 with efficient and safe intersection designs, safer entrances and exits for vehicles accessing businesses, a continuous sidewalk on the west, and a bike/pedestrian path on the east side of Wadsworth from 35th Avenue to the Clear Creek Trail. The project constructs a new safe and efficient intersection at 44th Avenue called a continuous flow intersection (CFI).
Merge Consulting leads all public engagement tasks including stakeholder outreach, public meetings, and traffic alerts. Frequent communication with adjacent businesses is imperative. Merge Consulting manages all public-facing project updates and messaging on What's Up Wheat Ridge, the city’s Bang the Table public engagement platform.
As part of the construction management team, Merge Consulting was responsible for the public information effort for four bridge replacements in Arapahoe and Elbert Counties. This $11-million project removed and replaced four timber bridges along Interstate 70 frontage roads (U.S. Highway 36 and US 40) between Byers and Agate. Improvements included reconstructing bridge approaches, widening shoulders, new guardrail, drainage improvements, access modifications, and upgraded signage and striping.
Merge Consulting led all public engagement tasks including stakeholder outreach, emergency responder coordination, direct mailings and press releases. Merge Consulting manages all public-facing project updates and messaging.
Merge Consulting provided public information services for the Vine Drive bridge replacement over I-25 as part of the contractor team. Project responsibilities included executing a public information plan for a seven-month full road closure. The project required a public meeting, detour mapping, press releases, and extensive emergency responder and local agency coordination.
Merge Consulting received a 2019 Subcontractor Award from the Colorado Contractors Association and the Colorado Department of Transportation for their public relations work on the Vine Drive Bridge Replacement Project.
